The Circular Economy

Transforming business models

Linked to both the global challenge for environment and resource security, and the theme of the fourth industrial revolution and the transformation of business models, and government-business-societal relationships through new technological innovation, Towards a Circular Economy (TCE) is a Global Project of the World Economic Forum.

The desire of the CEO steering committee at Davos 2016 was to build on Project Mainstream, and establish the Forum as a wider action platform that helps bring together all key business and public-sector activities in the Circular Economy Agenda into a larger community of purpose /community of action.

This will be achieved through working closely with the companies in the Steering Committee, currently chaired by CEO of Philips, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, and Dame Ellen MacArthur herself as vice Chair of the Circular Economy Global Agenda Meta-Council, Bill McDonough who has been the Forum’s Global Agenda Council Chair for the Circular Economy.
